The Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the promotion of Sue Wilson to Culinary Director, a new full-time position in the organization.
Sue began working with the Blue Stars’ food program in 2012 as a parent volunteer. She became a culinary assistant in 2013, and took over the food program as Culinary Manager in 2015. During her time in charge she has elevated the Blue Stars’ food program to among the best in the drum corps activity. As the new Culinary Director, Sue will work closely with our administrative team year-round on planning, staffing, and implementing our comprehensive food-service program.
“Sue Wilson has been a cornerstone of our organization since taking over the food program in 2015,” said Blue Stars CEO Brad Furlano. “Her dedication to our members, hard work on their behalf, and creativity in the food truck have set the standard in our activity.”
“Our members consistently rank their experience at the Blue Stars as among the best in drum corps, and Sue’s leadership is a large part of making that happen. Bringing her on full time in this expanded role is a recognition of the high-quality food program she has built here and its importance to the experience we provide our members, staff, and volunteers each summer.”
“For the last 10 years I have been blessed to be a part of an amazingly supportive group of people at the Blue Stars,” said Wilson. “This expanded role gives me the opportunity to spend more time on off-season recruitment and orientation of food program volunteers and focus on elevating the food program experience to the highest possible level for our members, staff and volunteers.”
Sue is currently working to build her team for the 2023 season. To join Sue as a paid employee on tour in 2023, fill out the job application form.
