LA CROSSE, WI – Blue Stars, Performing Arts for Youth is pleased to announce the administrative leadership team for the upcoming season.
Long-time administrative team member Brad Harris will take over the role of Director of the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps from Russ Gavin. Dr. Gavin is stepping down from the position to spend more time with his family, but will continue in a consultation role with the organization. Mr. Harris has been with the Blue Stars since 2011, joining the corps as the equipment manager and later becoming the Director of Operations.
“Brad Harris has been an important member of our team for more than a decade, and I can’t think of a better person to lead the Blue Stars into the future,” said Blue Stars CEO Brad Furlano. “Brad is a terrific person and will be an amazing leader for our members, volunteers, staff, and our entire organization.”
“I very much look forward to continuing the Blue Stars’ mission to provide an amazing experience for the motivated and talented young adults who want to pursue performance excellence both on and off the marching field,” said Brad Harris. “This activity means so much to so many alumni, fans, volunteers, and marching members - I am truly honored to continue to support the mission of the corps in this role.”
Joining Mr. Harris on the administrative team is a group of experienced individuals. The team has been reorganized to provide more clarity in roles, and make the tour experience better for members, staff, and volunteers. The new administrative leadership team includes:
Lizzie Miller: Director – Organizational Leadership
Kyle Winn: Director – Tour Logistics & Operations
Heather Tollers: Donor Relations, Events, & Merchandise Manager
Tyler Burkham: Tour Manager
Jon Carr: Member Health & Wellness Manager
The assembled team has been working behind-the-scenes to ensure that the members of the corps have a safe, memorable, and educational experience in 2022 and beyond.
Harris continues, “The tremendous skill and dedication required of performing members in this activity is truly unparalleled. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with our amazing instructional staff, volunteers, administration, and of course the performing members, to provide an awesome experience on the marching field. I am eager to assemble the 2022 corps and work with our talented team to create a memorable and rewarding drum corps experience for the next generation of the Blue Stars.”
