2020 Season Cancelled

DCI and its member corps have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there are still several months before a proposed shortened season would begin, there is simply too much uncertainty regarding the virus and its effect on the population. The safety of our members, staff, and volunteers comes before all else, and this is the best course of action for all.

Our hearts ache for the members of the 2020 Blue Stars and all the staff, volunteers, sponsors, and fans that have supported that effort. So much has been taken from this group of young adults in a short period of time. It was our hope the 2020 season would be a reason to celebrate a return to normalcy and the opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie unique to our activity.

DCI has extended the age-out limit so members that would have aged out in 2020 can now do so in 2021. We will continue to provide online touch-points so the 2020 Blue Stars can interact and stay connected during this time of social distancing.

We will be reaching out individually to members and ticket buyers to discuss options for payments made towards the 2020 season. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process while abiding by our own shelter-in-place orders.

To support our greater community in the fight against this pandemic, we will be doing the following:

  • We have discovered the gloves we use for food service are medical grade. We will be donating our supply into the healthcare system.

  • All food we have remaining from winter camps and/or purchased in preparation for the upcoming season will be donated to local food banks and groups working to feed those in need.

  • We have notified the city and county that our food truck is available if it can be of use in some manner.

  • We will make available any additional items we think could be of use in the battle. We’re all in this together.

The motto our organization has lived by for 56 years - Finis Coronat Opus, The End Crowns the Work - applies now more than ever. The work in front of us is uncertain in its duration. Its costs, both human and financial, will be high. But together we will emerge triumphant from these dark days and be graced once again with the sights and sounds of young adults performing as part of the Blue Stars in the greatest activity on earth. Together, we #MarchOn
